I've been turning for a while, including pens, and have started experimenting with the many variations. This is just a hobby for me, as I only give away what I turn (unless I decide to keep it myself). I'd guess I've only turned about 48 pens so far and I'd like to show one I turned tonight from Oregon Myrtal. Even with very sharp tools Myrtal wood will tear and I found most woods turn a lot easier.

Once I figure out how to post a picture, you get a chance to see it.

Enjoy.

Welcome Willy from another Oregonian.
We turn a lot of Myrtle Wood, if you have more problems or questions about feel free to ask. We are working on some kind of a get together for the turners in the Pacific Northwest.
