Hi,

I have watched demos and friends many times but I do not have all the tools yet.
I am into wood identification and collection with 25+ years of experience.

Welcome,
I'll bet you could collect a real pile of wood in 25 years!
Where do you keep it?
I can't move in my garage after a single trip to home depot.

A very warm welcome to the group!
Since you are an "expert" in wood maybe you will be able to identify this piece that I have.
It is very hard and dense. This 6"x6"X1" piece weighs about 2 pounds. It has a sweet fruity smell when worked and the shavings are a redish/purple.
Any help that you may give is appreciated.
