Started pen turning in 2005. Started selling some at craft shows also turned duck and deer calls .2009 had multiple strokes used the pen turning for rehab .Just about got back to the point in was at before the strokes. Really enjoyed making them so kept on doing so. I use mainly locally found woods , try to find with interesting grains and patterns ,also have made some from corn cobs I picked up in field.2014 started having trouble with legs and feet, found out I had no circulation in my feet , had sores on them that would not heal ended up looking both legs so am now in a wheelchair. Finally have got tools back to where I can use them so am now turning again. I have to go slow due to arthritis in my hands turning makes them hurt , but I have to do something to keep going. Thanks for letting me vent. Glad to be a part of this organization
