Hello my name is Kees I have recently picked up a delta lathe at a garage sale very cheap in my opinion. I then started looking on you tube for video's on turning and came across pen turning video's. I then tried to do that on this lathe. I had no turning tools to speak off only a cheap set from harbor freight. But I got a number of planet mill knives and made some off my own they seem to work very well. I'll try to post some pictures off my try outs. Right now I am very busy with outside work and won't be turning again till the fall.

Welcome from western NY State! There's nothing wrong with using. Set of tools from HF. I have a set I bought 9 years ago and still use them for small Spindle work even though I have some much more expensive tools I could use.

Very nice group of pens!

Welcome to the forum. Nice pens and keep up the quality work! I have the HF set of turning tools and find them to be good. I also bought a Rikon low speed grinder and Wolverine grinding jig. Surprising how good sharp tools cut!
