Hi, 3 weeks ago,after a few drinks,a friend convinced me that a 1947 Myford ML8 lathe on e-bay was a good buy.
It was certainly cheap!!! Now,having stripped it down,re-painted and rebuilt it,and spent at least 3 times what I paid for it  I have now turned one tool handle, one light pull and reduced several square pieces of timber to spindle-like objects.
I have now been informed that pens would make nice Christmas presents for the G/Kids-so here I am
Please be gentle.:) Mike.

Welcome Mike... Take your time, check through the library, and ask questions.
To make a pen is not rocket science... although some still look like it to me!

Above all, have fun, and teach those kids to make pens too!!

Cheers!

Welcome from Texas, Mike - and welcome to the wacky world of pen turning. The library is a great resource, but don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have. We are here to help.

And be sure to post a photo of your first pen once it's done. First pens are always special.
