Hey folks I am Woodmanjdz and I do have a question about the most efficient way to sharpen a gouge. I am a rookie pen turner so any help is appreciated.
Thanx in advance

Welcome from northern Virginia!

As for sharpening, check out the Wolverine sharpening set up from Oneway. You will need the Varigrind Jig they make as well.
Next, check out local WOODTURNING clubs and you should be able to hook up with another turner who can help.
Woodcraft has sharpening classes. Make sure you are getting one for lathe chisels.
And now.....YouTube! You will spend the rest of the year if you watch all the videos on sharpening lathe tools!.....start with Captain Eddie Castelin.
There might be another IAP member near you who can help as well.

Hope that helps!

Welcome from Sunny Florida. Second the Wolverine sharpening. Buy the jigs for the tools to set in to be sharpened. Real difficult to sharpen free hand for a lot of people. Like me.
