Default Hello from West Virginia!!!

Hey Everyone!!!

So I'm a rookie turner but a long time woodworker. I've been doing the scroll side of things for 15-20 years. I got a HF lathe, and popped out a few pens for Christmas presents and found I really enjoy working on the lathe. I'm a "how to" and "hands on" kind of guy so I have to be doing to learn. You can type out directions to me and I may understand. Sorry, also diagnosed with inattentive ADHD as well. :-) I added a PSI DC motor kit to the HF lathe for some variability, I have a pressure pot set up (HF) and a vacuum chamber. Neither of which look good aesthetically, but here in WV, we dont' worry about looks. HAHA;

I'm interested in broadening my horizons and learning from the seasoned vets here. Everywhere from sharpening tools, to wondering if I can hack normal pens and other stuff in WalMart to make my own kits to figuring out how to brighten Alumilite dyes to perfecting a finish (or at least look good anyways)

Thanks, stay safe, and I look forward to talking. I love to chat!
