Welcome aboard. This is the place to be for knowledge . And looking at the photos, there is potential there for sure. The gold trimmed pen is very nicely done, and with some practice with proper technique, the acrylic ones in the future will be looking just as nice.

Jennifer, and Logan and Rebecca, welcome to IAP from the San Antonio area.
They have been well taught by their grandfather. Their pens are very good first pens. I hope they continue to learn and keep their interest. Keep showing their progress with pictures of their next pens.
What area of Texas are you from? There are several pen turning clubs here in Texas and I know they would welcome new members. Each of the clubs can offer a great deal of pen turning knowledge and experience through their demonstrations and sharing of personal experience.
IAP has an excellent Library of pen turning education. Point them to that and they will find ideas and good information.
