I have been turning for a few years now and have done some pens but still have a lot of learning to go. I'm hoping to gain insight into better ways of turning pens and learning new tips and techniques to not have my blanks breakout and chip when flushing up the ends and turning. I have a lot of difficulty with the more brittle woods like Pink Ivory. It looks really good when it works out but I have more issues with it than other woods. Lately I have been getting a lot of cracking when assembling. Attached are some older pens (group) and two of the newer ones.
