hello my name is Arya
allow me to introduce myself again.
I just remembered I have to register on this site about 3 years ago. : P
using the name "indonesianwood" in this forum.
I hope to use the new account doesn't violate the rules here.
I forgot my email and password.:confused:

I come from Indonesia.:airplane::airplane::airplane:
has never made a wooden pen.
although I really like to see it.
I often provide wood for the hobbyist friends.
most often to friends in the US and UK.
little do the woodworking but not too often because I thought I did not have that kind of talent.:frown::frown:
I would often destroy the wood rather than making it better when doing woodworking. lol:biggrin::biggrin:

many thanks
Arya

Arya,
Don't feel bad about destroying more things than you make. It's part of the process. The secret to pen making is to enjoy the process of making it more than admiring the final project.

G'day Arya and welcome to the IAP family, all the way from South Australia.

While you have mentioned to be in one of the sources of the Amboyna, I need to ask, what is the Amboyna tree situation and exports of this once readily available wood type/species...?

Cheers
George

Welcome Arya, from Sydney Australia.
About destroying the Wood, Don't worry we all destroy some wood in the process of making pens, the task is to destroy as little as we can by developing our skills, with more and more practice.
Brian.
