Hello from Northern Nevada

Hello everyone. My name is Mike and I am new to pen turning. Last week I purchased my first lathe and some supplies and today I just turned out my first 2 pens. What a blast! I can see this being habit forming. Thankfully after years in carpentry, I have a nice stock pile of some hardwoods to make blanks from, and my wife is already making resin cast blanks. Christmas is not far off....

I see in the local chapters link that there are no groups in Nevada listed. So I ask.... is there any turners in the Reno area?????

Looks like there are a couple of AAW clubs in your area that would be great resources for learning to turn (pens and lots of other stuff). One in Reno and one in Gardnerville. You can get more info and contact details at the AAW website:
