Turned my first pen 4+ years ago and... something must have stuck, because I'd been thinking about getting a lathe ever since. Finally pulled the trigger this week! It's incredible how this craft just takes up residence in your brain and never wants to leave, and that's not to mention the community itself. The wealth of knowledge here - and the kind way it's delivered - is quite astounding.

In case other people are from So. Cal: I've started going to the Glendale Woodturner's Guild meetings; if you see me there feel free to say hello.

Welcome Renee. Glad to have you here.

If you have questions, lots of people here to help with wood, casting, turning, tools, techniques, components, pens, turning troubleshooting and more.

You turned your first pen 4+ years ago and it stayed in your mind. Visioning it that long before getting a lathe says a lot. Post some picts of your work when you can.
