Hello everyone, I'm lukas from Belgium.
I got frustrated with the small capacity of converters. Horrified at the waste of cartridges. The stiffness of Noodlers' (semi)flex nibs irked, and I found vintage wet noodles to be beyond my financial reach.
So I designed a pen, bought a lathe (ha! for financial reach) and started building my own pens.
I stole the idea of Noodlers' piston filler, but made the section and the reservoir one piece, with the piston filling most of the tail of the pen.
A year and a half later, I am building pens 12 through 15. Excluding the ones I botched entirely. The broken pieces, the melted one... But I'm beginning to get the hang of it. Six of them are in the hands of family and friends - they like them.
I'll try and write up the story of my pen in another post, where I can go into more detail. With Pictures!
Cheers!
