Hey guys, I've made two pens and stuffed them both up by turning the nut to tight and pushing the bushing into the brass cylinders. I can laugh about it now, but before...LOL. I'm very new to turning but I love it and pens intrigue me! I'm going to get into making my own blanks with epoxy, why, why not!!.,

Welcome! "Why not?" Is a pretty good philosophy around here, you'll fit in for sure.

Hi Sean !!! . Welcome to IAP !!!

Sounds like your first pens were slimlines.

I assume you buy from Timberbits.

Better kits for starting out are the Bolt Action, Sierra, and Lucida kits. . A bit more expensive, but way more satisfying to make and the results are way nicer ... and you can't push the pushings into the brass tubes !!!!! ... in any case, no need to tighten things up THAT much

Hi Sammy, welcome to penmaking from NZ. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
