Hello all,

Just getting back into turning pens after a couple of year break, one issue I've always had is the quality of the transmission that comes with most kits. Is there a better one out there?

Welcome! I don't know about the quality but you can buy piece parts from vendors here.

Welcome back to turning and to these forums!

I've not experienced any problems so far with transmissions in pen kits so far, so I'm not sure what you're looking for.

Can you share some examples of problems you've had? Maybe someone of the knowlegable folks in here will have some helpful ideas for you.

I've had great success with the Wall Street II transmissions from Woodcraft! The Mesa pen transmissions have not been as dependable!

Welcome back, from Houston.
No tranny problems but cross inks are another story. Think I'm going all gel from here on out.
