I am a novice turner that has unfortunately had to take a forced hiatus due to life and am finally in a position to return to something I truly love. Looking forward to catching up and seeing what the last, um 12 years or so has brought. I am a husband, a father of 3 (14, 12 and 5), a Pastor and an Insurance Agent. I am excited that my son is now interested in learning and hope to have him spinning soon! from Lamar, SC

Awesome ... Welcome back! I looks like a couple of the young ones are at a perfect age to learn pen turning. I have taught friends and family from 11 to 91 how to turn a pen. Get 'em in the shop and post photos of their beautiful creations here.

Welcome from Texas, Brad.

Be sure to post some photos of your pens in the Show Off Your Pens forum. That will get you entered into our monthly drawing for a new member prize.

Try to get all your children interested in turning. Our annual IAP Birthday Bash will be coming up in Feb and there will be youth contests they can enter. Even the 5-yo could make a simple polyclay or decorative duct tape pen. Here's the links to the 2016 contests to give them something to think about:
