Welcome to the IAP. We have a local group in Southwest Missouri and would love to have you be a part. We do have a member from Jonesboro. My brother is a retired law enforcement officer from Arkansas. Stay in touch and let me know if you are interested in joining our local chapter.

Welcome John. Glad to have you.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

Happy Turning!

Hello John nice to meet you and Welcome to IAP, you will find that the knowledge you can find on here and the people you will meet are, in my opinion, some of the BEST people on the web. Jump in and share your experiences and show us some of your turnings, and you might learn a thing or two. Len Shreck from Pennsylvania.

Welcome John! I would love to hear your bagpipes someday. Kinda far away at the moment but will be going back home - just across the river from Helena (in Mississippi) - for retirement in a year.

Join in the fun here and make some pens!
