HERE YOU GO....THE GRID FOR THE 2015 SUPERBOWL POOL

- the names were assigned to squares prior to the numbers being picked.
They were placed into squares in reverse order...the last to enter is in the first square all the way back to the first to enter is in the last square.
- then the numbers were picked by (2) people who are NOT in the pool
- then the teams were picked by (2) people who are NOT in the pool
- none of the people who picked the names, teams or numbers knew who
the others were
- history will show that there is no such thing as bad numbers. You never know.
- If anyone has trouble seeing the grid let me know. It is in MS Excel, I can also send a JPEG photo if you need.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! LET THE TRASH TALKING BEGIN~

Hell! Mine are already packed! But Iwill take my numbers the way the Seahawks play. Don't count on ANYTHING that has happened before. Whatever happens, it is likely to be something that has never been seen before. So...

Patriots get a touch back (2)
Seahawks TD (7)

No further scoring in the game.

I get all the blanks. (LIKE I NEED MORE!) (just ask SWMBO) ("when are you going to make all those pens"?)

For all of you "less-than-positive" thinkers, keep in mind what the numbers were last year in that "super close" game

1st qtr 8, 0
2nd qtr, 2, 0
3rd qtr, 6, 8
4th qtr 3, 8

Not what most would consider good numbers, so THINK POSITIVE!

Good luck everyone~

Look at it this way. According to the chart posted by NittanyLion there is no combination of numbers that have never won.

EXACTLY! IF SEATTLE CAN BEAT GREEN BAY, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!!! (I KNOW, I KNOW, QUIT SNIVILIN'....I HAVE A LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER FROM A VEGAS CASINO THAT IS NOW WORTHLESS....I PAID FOR THE PRIVILEGE. )

Wow 5 and 0... 0.52% chance of winning... so here's how it's going to play out: Hauschka will kick 5 field goals in the first quarter and the Hawks D will hold the Pats to zero points. This score will remain throughout the rest of the game, 15-0 Hawks beat Patriots.
Loved the Legion of Boom cartoon posted by jeweler53!
My philosophy on pools is the same as when I buy my weekly $5 Lotto or Power Ball ticket: If I DON'T play, my chances of winning are ZERO. This used to drive my college roommate nuts... he was a math major and would go into his rant on odds every time I brought it up. This pool is perfect. It was free (or nearly free) and the verbal jousting is good fun. I've got enough blanks now to last until rapture and beyond so, 4 or 5 blanks won't make much of a dent in the supply. Who knows, with the Seahawks, 15-0 is not asking too much.

The way I see it is that I need a 2 pt conversion or a safety plus two field goals or a touchdown with missed extra points, 6 field goals, or 4 touchdowns by one of the teams in the 1st quarter to have a shot. Where do I send my blanks?

Your .52% chance is much better than 5 field goals in a quarter. According to this: NFL Records, it's never happened.

Don't get me wrong, I also have Seattle with a 5. So I'm good with Seattle getting the 5 field goals. But The Patriots need a TD catch from Gronk, and a PAT.

So how did the playing the Lotto work Jeff?

Won $8 the other day! I know, I know, I know what the odds really are. But, I don't exceed my weekly amount. Don't have any other vices and adopt the attitude that "someone's gotta win". Or I feel like Robin Williams character in the movie Good Will Hunting, "Got the winning ticket right here" when I buy mine. If I win, I do know which lathe I'm buying to go in my new shop!:)

Just a note for clarification....
Anyone can win ANY quarter based on the numbers you have. The colored grids your name is in only determines who you will be sending blanks to.
Example:
If score at the end of the 2nd quarter is Patriots 16, Hawks 23, whoever has the numbers 6 for the Pats and 3 for the Hawks wins that quarter. In this years grid, the people in yellow would send blanks to Epigolucky .
Hope that clarifies some of the questions.

Good Luck Everyone~

Maybe we need a Library Article for this. Every year we go through this. I'm not complaining. It's a little hard to understand for 1st timers. I know it took me a few times reading it to understand my 1st year doing this.

How about this:

Look at the grid

Find your name

Note the color of the square in which your name appears

If your name appears in a grey square you are to send blanks to the winner of the first quarter.

If your name appears in a yellow square you are to send blanks to the winner of the second quarter.

If your name appears in a blue square you are to send blanks to the winner of the third quarter.

If your name appears in a pink square you are to send blanks to the winner of the fourth quarter (or final score in the case of OT).

I figure I will get 2 boxes ready 1 full of basswood for anyone who whines and wins, and one full of good stuff for a Seahawks winner.

Good idea - I think I'll do the same.
I don't have any basswood, but I can fill a box with some old bass.

For those of you doubting your chances, just remember those of us who missed the sign-ups entirely!

So --- is Scalping allowed??? Can you "exchange" your winning square (before the game in most cases, but perhaps with some you can "exchange" after the game on the basis that they can retry with the reruns on TV) to some other luckky enterprising person who really really wants to get a winning square???

It would add a new depth to the IAP Superbowl Pool

Though on reflection it might make the move more towards the cess pool style......

Let me be the first to offer up my square for the paltry sum of 100 blanks for Seahawk fans and 250 blanks for Patriots fans. Payable in advance!

NEW RULE

Scalping is only allowed after paying the "Superbowl Transfer Fee"

Patriots fans - must buy (10) IAP Bash Mugs
Seahawks fans - must buy (1) IAP Bash Mug - for each person who is entered in the Superbowl pool.

My favorite team is Green Bay and ANYONE who plays against Seattle~

Good Luck Everyone!

How about a side bet between you and me.....
If Seattle wins, I will send you a really nice box of blanks
If N.E. wins, you make a $25 donation to the IAP Birthday Bash?

Go Green Bay~
