ATTENTION IAP VENDORS
On February 1st the 10th Annual IAP Birthday Bash will begin. As of right now we are still identifying and refining contests / activities for the month long celebration of the IAP going public in 2004. As we did last year we are opening up BASH events for Vendor Sponsorship. If you are an IAP vendor and would like to sponsor a contest here is what you need to know.

You will be required to provide appropriate prizes to be awarded to the winners of the contest you sponsor. The 2014 IAP Birthday Bash contests / activities available for sponsorship, along with the accompanying minimum value of the prize donations necessary to sponsor a contest are listed at the conclusion of this announcement. Please keep in mind that the prices listed are minimums. Sponsoring vendors may donate higher value prizes if they choose to do so. However, the total amount of all prizes donated by any one vendor cannot exceed $1000.00

As a sponsoring vendor you will be responsible for delivery of your donated prize(s) to the winner(s) of the contest you sponsor. The contest chairs will provide you with the names and email addresses of the winners. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that the prizes be in the form of gift certificates. All prizes awarded as a result of a vendor sponsored contest should be delivered to the winners within 21 days of the conclusion of the sponsored contest. Failure to meet this requirement will result in ineligibility to sponsor future contests (not to mention that it will probably get you a public jeer from the winner who doesn't receive their prize).

As a sponsoring vendor, in most cases, you will not be involved in the organization or administration of the contest you sponsor. Vendors will not choose chair-people, judges or select winners of the contest you sponsor. The contests will be organized and administered by the Activity Manager and/or his designated contest chair-person. However, if a vendor proposes a new contest you may be asked by the Activity Manager and/or the contest chair to provide a general description or explanation of the contest so they will have an understanding of how you envision the contest to be played. There will be only one sponsor per contest. Sponsorship of a contest does not preclude the IAP from awarding prizes to the winner of the sponsored contest in addition to the prizes donated by the contest sponsor.

By sponsoring a contest during the Birthday Bash your business will receive at least one month's exposure because your company name will be attached to the contest. As of right now the format will probably be the contest name followed by the name of the sponsoring vendor. For example, "The 2014 Pen Contest, sponsored by XXXXXXXXX." The IAP membership tends to support the vendors who openly support the IAP.
Sponsorship will be limited to one sponsored contest per vendor. A vendor choosing to sponsor a contest is not prohibited from donating additional prizes to the Birthday Bash for use in unsponsored contests.

If you are interested in sponsoring an existing IAP Birthday Bash Contest, or have an idea for a new Birthday Bash activity you would like to sponsor, please send me a PM that includes the name of the contest you wish to sponsor and a description of the prize(s) you intend to donate. If you propose a new contest please give a brief explanation of how you envision the contest will be conducted. Vendors may list up to three contests, in order of preference, they are interested in sponsoring. If your first choice was previously taken the second or third choice may still be open for you to sponsor. Newly proposed contests that are approved by the IAP Activities Manager will be sponsored by the vendor who suggested the contest during the next scheduled Birthday Bash unless the vendor who suggested the contest declines sponsorship. Existing contests (i.e. a contest that has been offered previously within the last 2 years) will be assigned on a first come, first served basis in order of receipt of the PM in mbroberg's mailbox. Sponsorship of a contest this year does not guarantee you sponsorship of the same contest next year.
Thanks,
Mike
