Just a feeler to see how much interest there would be in these blanks.
These blanks have been in the making for several months. I spent way too much time and money trying to get these right. Starting with exhibition grade green Claro Walnut burl, I came up with a multi-step process to stabilize and enhance the colors of the wood. These were started this project planning on using them for personal use but I went a little overboard and now I need to get some of my money back. The color and contrast came out amazing. Right now I have about 35 of these blanks and another batch of 30 or so will be ready in a few weeks. The whole process is fairly expensive and takes a lot of time but I think the results were worth it. If anyone is interested in buying some to try, let me know. Because of my expenses and the time involved, the blanks will run $5-$8 each. The blanks are a little rough from the final drying stage. A few have open burl eyes that can easily be filled. 7/8"x5". Any interest??? Most of the blanks will be a grade between the middle and right blank. Unless I get some crazy offer, I'm saving the one on the right for that "special" pen. ![]() ![]()
