Default Scorpion Blank #80 for the Majestic Squire

Here is the next Scorpion Blanks up for grabs! Each blank has a once-live scorpion that was hunted/captured by me personally, lovingly dispatched and cast in Poly-Resin against a background of dissolved rubber over a white base. Each blank is squared/milled, turned to near finished size and shape and polished for visibility. Just mount them on the appropriate bushings, turn to final dimensions and finish! REMEMBER! These tubes are for the Majestic Squire only!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THESE BLANKS!! PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING!!

- I pre-turn and polish each blank for a couple of reasons. The first is because of the brittle nature of PR. Most blank catastrophes occur during the milling and rounding process, so I have assumed this risk for you. The blank is close to finished dimensions so the odds of a total blowout are lessened. Second, I want you to be able to fully and completely inspect the blank BEFORE you touch a tool to it. This is the time to decide whether or not you want to keep the blank or send it back to me!
- I try my hardest to remove all air bubbles, but due to the complexity of casting one of these suckers, some air bubbles may/will be present in the blank. These are small bubbles that can usually be filled with CA and do not detract from the finished product.
- USE SHARP TOOLS! Iím not going to tell you how to turn, but a gouge will destroy this blank! A sharp skew is all you will need and BE PATIENT! Take thin slices and stop the lathe frequently. BE VERY CAREFUL AT THE EDGES.
- Itís your call how thin or how ďpreggoĒ you want your finished blank to be. If you go for a thin blank, you run the risk of turning/sanding into the scorpion itself. If this happens, do not panic or consider suicide! Simply treat the exposed area with thin CA (it may take quite a bit CA due to the void that was just created) and sand. You will then have to put a CA finish on the pen instead of a plastic finish. I did this on the pen that I posted and it looks great!

WARRANTY
I want you to be 100% happy with your blank. When you receive your blank, please take the time to inspect it thoroughly. Because it has been rounded and polished, there should be no surprises when you turn it. If you donít want the blank for any reason, simply send it back to me for a full refund including your shipping. If you ruin the blank in the turning process, let me know and I will mail you a new one at a 50% discount plus shipping (yes, I stole this from Curtis because I think it is a GREAT business idea!).

The price for each blank is $45.00 plus shipping ($5 to the lower 48). Reply to this post and PM me. The first person gets it!

Thanks,
John

I'll take it if it is still available. I sold one this past weekend, I really didn't intend to sell it, I just wanted to have it as a conversation starter. I priced it really high so it wouldn't sell, but someone really love it and now I need another.
