No more Preproduction Buys

It looks like, under the new forum rules for selling, I will no longer be able to setup preproduction sales. I personally feel that's to the detriment of members who have been getting goods at very low prices - but that's life. Those sales already in progress will, of course be completed and I thank all who have participated in them.

I would agree it's been a benefit to us to participate in your buys.
The high priced kits aren't available from any retailer.

Nothing is in concrete, should be able to work something out.

I'm giving this some thought. I won't violate the rule and I won't ask IAP to change it or make exceptions to it, but I might be able to find something that can work.

At the moment I don't have anything in mind that will work for the high end kits from Dayacom. The regular preproduction sales can probably still continue as long as I order the product before I collect any money. I can work with my supplier on that.

I have shifted nearly all of my component kit buying to your pre-production orders. I for one second the hope for a way to continue to offer these deals.

The preproduction and high end sales I have run here are for IAP members only, not for non-members who buy at my store.

If I put them in the store - I still have the problem of letting members know they are taking place without violating the classified rule against advertising items "not in hand or on order". And I still need to provide a code that would allow IAP members to get the discounted price.

You can advertise anything you want on your website. You could even advertise here that you have a special on your website just for IAP members. There is nothing in the rules to prevent this. Then, assuming your software allows it, you set it up so that IAP members are in a different customer group an only they will be able to see the details. Of course they will have to sign up for an account and you will have to add them to that group but that is not difficult. If your software can not do that, then you might want to look into different software. I know the open source software that I use allows this.

The other option is to run a real group buy with no profit. Since you say you are not making any profit on these buys anyway, I don't see the reason you don't do this.

I hope a way can be found to allow you to do what you have been doing (what ever it's called). I just found your offers here, even though I have been on this site for a few years. I like your offers and have taken advantage of them.

Thanks for making discount prices available to me for nice pen parts.
