International Mail Service
Canada Canadian Postal Employees Return-To- Work Tonight - USPS To Begin Accepting Mail Destined For Canada Tomorrow The Canadian government passed back-to-work legislation Sunday night. Canadian Postal employees will return to work beginning June 27 at 8:30 p.m. USPS will begin accepting mail for Canada starting June 28. Mail held in the USPS network since the work stoppage began is being released and transported into Canada. Due to the large volumes of mail held by countries, customers may experience slightly longer transit times. USPS is working closely with the Canadian Postal Service to hold delays to a minimum. Canada has been turned back on for website orders and we will be shipping all pending Canadian orders tomorrow. Welcome back to the Global Market. Started a new post as I could not change the subject on the original post.

I am so glad that things will get moving again. I have an order from one IAP vendor which got stuck in the mess that I hope didn't get lost and also a second order from another IAP vendor which had to go via courier, which cost the vendor more to ship, cost me $20 more in brokerage fees, and took longer for me to get because of all the hassle of getting our ducks in order between the vendor and I.
Also in my other business, I had a few orders that simply couldn't go out since I needed Canada Post. I just can't eat the cost of shipping a $15 order with the base charge of ~$20 to ship with a courier. I know many people criticize the government for stepping in, especially considering the details of it all, but I am certainly not one of those people. Happy day... Churchill, Jr. Gent II's and live/dead centers for turning between centers!!!! |
