Blanks are up

Hi Folks. I've been getting several PM's asking when blanks will be available on Exotics again. Well...they just went up. I've added several new ones along with the originals. Thanks to everyone who has supported my obsession!

I am afraid to buy any yet. With me just learning and seeing what kind of pens they turn out, I may throw my lathe out the window if I messed one of those up!

Ed, you shouldn't worry too much! There are still a few blanks left if you'd like some. The biggest hurdle with these blanks is the reverse painting (painting the drilled hole). I've found that Ceramcoat acrylic paint works best for me. It coats well and dries nicely. After painting the inside of the blank and also the tube allow them to dry and the rest is like any other pen. Glue everything together and just turn it to size and put together. They're made with Polyester Resin (PR) and turn nicely. They're pre-round so it minimizes chip outs. So sharp tools and light cuts like any other acrylics and you would be good to go. I don't know if you know Fred (Ptownsubbie) here on IAP. He's not far from you and has been trying to put together a VA pen turners meeting. You may want to contacting him on here and see where that takes you. He's a friend of mine and really knows his stuff. Good luck!

I saw he was trying (or someone) was trying to put together a meeting. I am hoping I can make it, barring any promises to my wife or kids I should be there.
