Rockb's Manzanita burl, redwood, buckeye Part 10
Hi Folks, here are a few more pieces I'm hoping you can use. Pretty much a cross section of some of my favorites from pen blanks, to "other things we make wood". If you see something you like, please reply in the thread so the other guys will know what's taken. Include your zip and I'll take it from there. This is semi dry, sap wood has rotted in places and there are visible cracks/checks. No way to tell what's inside.....part of the "fun" of manzanita. If you find anything with more than 4 legs....kill it... Measures about 7/8 x 7/8 x 6" long. Buy 'em one at a time by the "white out" number for $4.00 each. Some of the "ends" appear lighter in color..that's because of end sealer that soaked in and affects the wet pics.....there's nothing wrong with the wood. r1234a.JPG r1234b.JPG R170, Old growth redwood burl block, lots of pen blanks in here or maybe a nice bowl. This wood is hard, came from a root wad that had been submersed for a long time. Has some nice dark staining that may/may not have been caused by being submersed. Measures 5 x 6 x 6". $24.00 r170a.JPGr170b.JPGr170c.JPGr170d.JPG R171, Old growth redwood burl block, lots of pen blanks in here or maybe a nice bowl.
