Rockb's Buckeye, redwood, manzanita burl, ironwood...Part 12

CLOSED............Hi Guys, A few more pieces of wood for you to look over. This is my 12th posting of blanks native to my neck o' the woods, northern end of California......an hour south of Oregon and 3 hours east of the Pacific Ocean. Thank you all very much for your responses.

Also, I've added a few larger blocks way down at the bottom of this sale. Guess you could call 'em Other Things We Make Wood. : ) Many pen blanks hidden in them or they might work well for you guys who want to custom cut some wood. There will be some large buckeye, redwood peppermill type wood, and some pretty nice little redwood burl blocks.

I have dampened all the below pieces to show a simulated finish.

Below, HR1, $9.00. Honduran Rosewood, 4 pieces, 3/4 x 3/4 x 5" long. These are actually a little larger than the 3/4, more like 7/8 but some might be a hair or two under 7/8. Hey Guys, I've never worked with rosewood before but that's what it said on the big box of cut-offs at my favorite wood store. I think I've found my newest favorite wood. Love the chatoyent (sp) effect.

Below, R 114. Redwood lace burl stopper blanks. Very good quality lace. Measues 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" plus a hair.... : ) There will be 4 half blanks in each of these little blocks if you choose. $4.00 each for one or all. They all came from the same larger block so they are of the same grade. I won't be able to sell separate blocks as I didn't number them. Maybe next time if needed. R114, $4.00 each.

SOLD Below, M71, $10.00.
Manzanita natural edge green wood. Dug in Sept. of 08, this wood has partially dried, could have some nice casting shapes in it. It will have some cracks, after all, it is manzanita. No extra charge for any rocks, bark inclusions, dirt or "creepy crawlies" that may be calling it home. M71, $10.00.

Below, M 76, $12.50. Manzanita burl half blanks, 3/4 x 3/4 x 2 1/2 to 4" long. These are pretty nice blanks. There will be a few cracks, etc. but I have separated them from the "casting" category.





Below, Ironwood, Lot 1. Eight numbered pen blanks. Measure 3/4 x 3/4 x 5". You can buy these by number. These are exceptional blanks, little to no cracks, or other problems. I will have some other ironwood to post later in bulk but these do deserve personal/one at a time purchase. $8.each. Number 1,2,3,4,5,7, sold.







SOLD Below, I-19, $12.00. Ironwood block, measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 5" plus long. There will be some nice blanks in this piece plus some casting/filling wood. Weighs about 4 lbs.

Below, MB3, Myrtle burl blanks, $1.50 each. To my regular wood buddies who have seen this sale before, I did sell the original MB3 but have not had time to retake addtional pictures. I do have more nearly identical to these in color and intensity of burl. If you don't have to have pics, I'll sell the others (I think I have about 20 of them) for $1.50 each. Colors shown below, light and dark are actual variations. This wood is fairly hard and dense, really makes a pretty finish. 7/8 x 7/8 x 5 1/4". $1.50 each. ....MB3, $1.50 each

Below, RC3. Curly redwood spindle. $12.50. Measures 2 x 2 x 27".











Below, B93, $12.50. Buckeye spalted block, not burl but wood from further up the trunk. Still has the pretty blue/yellow of spalted buckeye but no bark, voids, etc. commonly found in burl. Measures about 6 x 7 1/2 x 9 1/2".








Below, W1, $15.00. English walnut large turning block. This wood is not dry although the tree it came from had been down for a couple years. Measures about 4 3/4 deep x 10 1/2 x 11". Will fit in a large flat rate box so shipping will be $13.95, add cost of wood and total to anywhere will be $28.95.







Below, W2, $8.00. English walnut spindle blocks. Measures 2 1/8 x 2 1/2 x 10 1/4".
