Default Rockb's Buckeye, redwood, manzanita burl, ironwood...#1

Hi Guys and Gals, I've been gone for a while......like half a year!! : ( Day job (logging) really cuts in to my free time. But......got laid off last week, not a bad thing as it happens every year about this time. I've been looking forward to submitting a few pieces of wood to my 7,900 (give or take a few) best friends. : ) Whatever you guys don't like, I'll put 'em on ebay. Would appreciate your zip and contact info by PM if you buy any of the below. Thanks.

I've got some stabilized Buckeye Burl pen blanks below. All are at least 5" long, most are 5 1/4 x 3/4 x 3/4 or a hair larger. Sorta hard to make 'em exact as when they come back from the stabilizing guys (RRP), they are coated with the stabilizing agent that needs to be sanded off to show the grain. I sand all four sides with 120 grit....or close to it. Sometimes I don't get it all off and it shows in the pics. Takes quite a bit of time but I really like to show the wood well. I take two pics, dry and wet to simulate a finished pen. Note the "dry" pic appears dull, 120 grit "scratches" does that. This stuff polishes like glass.

Disclaimer.........you know I gotta throw it in there. : ( Buckeye burl is known to have voids, bark inclusions, loose eyes, etc. These are not flaws but an expected condition of burl.......there. : )

You can buy 'em one at a time......just reply with the number and I'll get Paypal info to you. You can also send a check, whatever's handy for you. A check won't slow shipping, I often send wood before receiving $$. Never been burned yet by a "wood guy".

SOLD Buckeye burl stabilized blanks, 1 to 6. Blank #2 is exactly 5" long. Pics taken wet and dry. $4.50 each

Number 7,8,9,10 are sold. Below, Buckeye stabilized blanks, 7 to 14....$4.50 each. Note a couple worm holes in #9 also some of the stabilizing agent at the top of #13. Pretty wood under there....really. ; )

Below, BP22, buckeye burl pen blanks, Not Stabilized, 6 pieces, 3/4 x 3/4 x 5, $15.00 for all 6.

SOLD BP32, Buckeye burl casting wood. Six pieces, $10.00. Measues 3/4 x 3/4 x 5".

Below, RP11. Redwood lace burl blanks. Note the very fine lace that comes from what some guys call "pin burl"......very close together eyes. Detail of this kind of lace makes for a very "busy" pen, lots to see. Some of these have the creamy sapwood, some with sapwood and heartwood. $12.00 for all three.

SOLD Below, R138, Redwood Lace Burl block. Very nice quality large block for the "other things we make" category. Or......cut it into a bunch of blanks. Measures 3 x 5 1/8 x 5 1/8. Should have 15 really nice pen blanks. Price, $25.00. Do a little 'rithmetic.....makes a great price per blank.

SOLD Below, M77, Manzanita burl half blanks or casting wood. Measures 3/4 x 3/4 x 2 1/2 to 4" long, twenty pieces. Manzanita typically has cracks, flaws, voids, etc....pics show these pretty well. $15.00 for the lot.

Below, I5, Three desert ironwood pen blanks. Measures 3/4 x 3/4 x 6 1/2" long. Pretty nice blanks, price $10.50 for all three. There will be a few cracks in these typical of ironwood.

SOLD I6, same specs as above I5. $10.50 for all three.

Guess that's about it for now....thanks for looking.
