Paul Huffman Vice

I am trying to decide on a new drilling vise. Done some searching and found some interesing posts about the different ones available.
But first I wanted to find out if anyone would like to sell there Paul Huffman drilling vise
I was on the list but he has stopped making them. For now I hope. So if anyone has one they no longer use let me know.

bummer, i too want a paul huffman vice. what did your research display as the #2 vice?

Yes, same here. I was patiently waiting (a year+ ?) and did a search a couple of weeks ago, only to find out that he was not making them. Certainly disappointing, but more importantly, I hope all is well with him.

I have used the WC version for about three years now, but the thing leave a lot to be desired...

I think his "day job" got to be very demanding . . .

IMHO, another problem was the price. . . I think he had the vise priced too low.

Should he start making them again he probably needs to get about $150.00 each for the vises.

Aluminum continues to rise in price, anodizing service is not cheap, CNC machine time cost, LH/RH threading is time consuming & even the simple little handle is about $9.00 each from McMaster-Carr.

But this is only my opinion.

actually, I think I would consider selling mine. I have hardly ever used it because my drill press is so pathetic that I pretty much do everything on my lathe. It's such a pretty vise too, but why buy a better drill press when my lathe is basically a 30" press laying on its side. I can't even remember what did I pay for that vise?

I am looking for a new vise myself.Sadly I was on the top of Pauls list and he had contacted me about getting one just before he stopped making them so I lost out.I could just shoot myself in the foot.I really need a good one.I have the rockler one and it has done very well but its time for a new one.I am going to wait a little while hoping Paul will come back.But if you run into something nice please let me know also.

Just a thought here. I ordered material today to start making these again. I appreciate the good words. I hope to be in production soon and will let the word out when they are available. I do not want to add to the list, however, but will do the current list first, and then go from there. As for $150, might have to do a small increase to cover rising production costs, but not that far! Probably in the 7-10% range, we'll see!
