guys/gals,
i have extra bottle opener heads which i use to make nice hand-made bottle openers. i find them to be an easy turn similar to the ease of making a seam ripper. i turn a handle usually from some scrap wood. i then drill 4 small holes in-line which allows me to glue the head into the handle. it takes me about 10 minutes to complete a piece ;) these are an easy money maker to supplement your pen sales. i will sell them 5 for $15 which includes shipping let me know how many you want below and i will PM you. if you have something to trade you can PM me. blessings, craig ps: the bottle opener in the pic is not included but its there to give you an idea of what can be created easily. Hello all
Wow thanks for the orders I know you will enjoy creating these in that I really have A few answers to some of the questions raised: - no these are not stainless but they are heavy gauge brushed steel, not cheap tin - the inline holes are needed in the handle to make a thin oval hole to be able to insert the bottle opener head. I use a 5/32 inch bit drilled 1.5 inches deep. - I only have brushed steel heads but craft usa has 10k gold bottle openers (no can option only bottle caps) for $9 ea however I have not seen them in person - I have cut into my supply so I have plenty and will get more if needed - here is what i follow for a process to create these bottle openers: How I create a Bottle Opener a. I select a piece of stock (wood or resin) for the handle. A typical size is 1x1 by 4 inches long however I have used up to 7-10 inches long for a handle which is hung from a barbeque grill with an eye hook. b. Next I turn the stock between centers to the desired size and apply my finish. c. Then I use my disk sander and create a flat spot (about the size of a $.05 cent coin) on the end of the handle which will be used to drill the needed holes into. d. Next I clamp the handle (wrapped in a paper towel) and I drill 4 holes (using a 5/32" bit ) 1.5 inches deep which are in-line creating an oval hole . e. Last I put some CA glue into the hole and then insert the bottle opener head. f. Done. Blessings! Craig
