Default Insert/Adapter for G3

I'm new to turning and just bought a Jet 1015VS mini-lathe. Am considering the purchase of a Nova G3 chuck. Will it fit the lathe as is or do I need to purchase the threaded insert/adapter? Your help is much appreciated.

You will need an adapter to fit 1" x 8 tpi (threads per inch) for your spindle.
Suggest you get an adapter with a set screw so you can lock it on the spindle That basically applies if your 1015 is reversible (I can't remember).
G3 is a great chuck for the lathe you have.
SOMETIMES I PRETEND TO BE NORMAL... but it gets I go back be being me.

The word 'listen' contains the same letters as the word 'silent. Is that like <<<<<ZIP IT<<<<<<

Default It depends...

...on which G3 you buy. They come in different sizes that are fit different lathes. That is the same lathe/chuck combo I had for a while. Just make sure of your lathe headstock thread size before you order the chuck..

They have a couple direct thread version but they also have the insert version. I'd get the insert version because when you upgrade your lathe you just have to change the insert
Keep on turnin'
