Thread weaving

I just looked a the George pen with the outstanding thread wrapping. In rod building, there is a technique that is called weaving- there are a series of horizontal threads. Then the contrasting threads are places at a right angle to give a logo, letter, or whatever. I'll see if I can find an example or tutorial for you.
