...using the Heritance large feed/nib holder that works with either the El Grande/Churchill kit or a kitless pen made with the group buy triple start taps/dies?
The reason I ask is that there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of extra material to play with once the blank has been drilled and tapped and then turned down to the appropriate size (7/16" diameter) in order to fit into the cap. When I do it, I am left with a rather thin-walled piece that is somewhat fragile and shapeless (the thin walls leave no room for anything other than a simple straight up and down design).
I could, of course, use the SMALL feed/nib holder, but my preference is to have a large nib on the pens I am making, so I am interested to hear how others may have solved this issue.
