I had a small limb of cedar and decided to take a first crack at turning a winged bowl. Just mounting the limb seemed weird and turning air was weird too. All in all it came out looking very nice and I'm a big fan of natural edges so I'm calling this a success!

Wonderful job on the winged bowl! Cedar is very nice to turn and the shop smells great!

I find that the sanding dust is very fine and good dust control and protection are key.

I have seen this type of bowl referred to as a "Bowl from a Log". Many times retaining a full bark edge.
