This was my second real - albeit small - furniture project. My wife had mentioned that she'd like a little table for next to the bed that she could put her earrings etc in at night. No much room there.

Table is cherry and walnut. I turned a walnut knob for the drawer. The only fasteners on the project are the clips I used to attach the top into slots that will allow for wood movement on the top. I had to come up with something for the drawer runners. It took longer than it should have probably but I'm on new ground here!

Anyway, she likes it!

Love it! How about a shelf? How about a walnut drawer front with an oak turned knob? Next time, maybe!

Oak isn't really my thing. My next project is a longer table for next to the sofa that will probably be the same woods but with a lower shelf of some sorts.

Drawers are a pain. :)

Nice job! It will be a family heirloom - doesn't get much better than that. (I agree with Mack C... a lower shelf, or a second drawer on the next one, two or three ).

Beautiful - I love Walnut, Oak (and maple).
