I used one of my pieces from my blacksmithing class to make this stemmed goblet (not sure if that is a proper name for it). Since this was an experimental piece I grabbed a ordinary looking piece of wood that was labeled "wet maple" that someone had given me. Much to my surprise it was beautiful inside. My wife and daughters think it's too tall, I like the look. I put instant gun bluing on the steel and then finished it with beeswax.

Looks excellent!

If it was to be a "usable" goblet then the stem may be a bit long, but as an ornamental piece, it is not.

I can see it nicely displayed on a bookshelf with a large fake rose or orchid (or maybe a big spider...)
