Turning Other Than Pens

The first thing I learned to turn was a pen and they continue to be my favorite thing to turn. But I've begun to turn other things which have a broader appeal to friends and family. I have to say that each new form has been rewarding and sometimes the challenge of the day is choosing what to turn next. Life is good!

Very nice "other turnings".

Sometimes I don't have any idea what I'm going to work on until I get out to the shop and some piece of wood speaks to me and tells me what it would like to become.

Very nice variety of items. I'm like Edgar. Sometimes I go into my shop with no idea what I will make. I stand there looking at different pieces of wood until one of them gives me an idea and then I turn it. Sometimes it becomes something different then I originally intended. That's all part of the fun!
