I have had quite a few requests for weaving tools of late and tapestry bobbins are the latest. They were kind of fun to make to her specifications and after finish and Beale buffing they are very smooth and shine well. I have a little bit of black walnut around the shop so walnut it was.

They are solid

Mark, those look great!...and good use of smaller pieces.
Do these have a through hole or solid?

I drilled a small hole in each end on the lathe to get it centered. I then used a dead center and live center to turn them. I do not think the slight hole in each end will be an issue. She wanted both ends to be rounded and the whole item was to look like a bone. I believe that is the slang name used by weavers for this item.
