Wifey has her Housing/Home Furnishing students doing a project using an inflatable ball and wrapping with glue soaked yarn to create lamp shades. The ball needs to be deflated and removed after the yarn dries.
When asked about the inflater needles, I said " I have one or two in the garage/shop".....but could I find them?...Nope. Not near the air compressor or in the baby food jar with the valve stem caps, valves, etc.
So, off to Walmart this morning...a pack of two for $0.96....a little while later, I have a custom deflater needle!
Maybe this one won't go missing!

Cherry-Beall buffed. The needle is semi-threaded/epoxied in place.

My afterthought is next time, drill and epoxy a metal valve cap in the handle. Then the needle could be removed for inflating as well.
Just remember to drill a vent hole in the valve cap

Dang Charlie, gonna start calling you MacGyver!

Thanks Michael....part of the enjoyment is not only turning something but the planning process, figuring out the steps and in which order so the project comes together at the end....then critiqueing to make it better next time either functionally or in process.

Got to keep stirring that gray matter so the smart cells don't sink to the bottom:biggrin:
