I made these wooden ring boxes for my wife and daughter. A fun weekend project. One box is a combination of red oak and mesquite and the other is mesquite and olive wood. I used a forstner bit for the ring compartment and scrollsaw to cut out the heart shaped layers of wood. Glued together with wood glue. Sanded with my oscillating sander. Used a wooden dowel for the hinge.
I finished them with my homemade beeswax / mineral oil mixture.
