Which translated means, "A threaded box made from Plum".

This is the finished version of the box that I showed having threads cut into it with my new threading jig.

Box is 4-1/8" in Diameter, 1-1/4" high(1.5" counting the grip), but it is very shallow at 5/8", but then it was just to test my threading jig.

Finish so far is one coat of satin WOP(will probably be the only coat).

C&C welcomed especially on the threading.

Great looking little box JD! The threads are clean and crisp!..... Nicely done!
It looks to have almost true vertical sides....so.....does that make it a

Inquiring minds must know....how does moisture effecting the threading? Or the lid removal to be more accurate....

Hi Scott, I am sure that a lot depends on the stability of the wood. I have the box in the shop and pretty much try the threads every day and have seen no change in how they fit. I am guessing that plum is a pretty stable wood. It was turned when the weather was frigid(dry) outside, today it is in the low 70s and humid but I can't tell any difference in the fit from day one. Hope this helps with your question, I will keep checking the fit through the summer.
