Everything is natural horn or wood in its true color'
African deer horn/ Gabon ebony.
Tanned leather .

The piece on the right.
The 24 slot rail road track style rings are made from natural Olivewood with Cocobolo wood cut into 0.028 strips and inlayed into the slots.
On each side of the slotted rings is purple heart wood.
Each ring is 27 pieces and had to be cut deep so the ring could be formed to the antler .

The brass pin/ antler thing is a tool used to push the chalk out of the stacked leather pieces.
And its a reject I don't like the way the tool looks and will change it before being shipped .
I did get the grain the match up on the olive wood .

I cut my rings deeper now

Very nice and definitely one-of-a-kind! May I ask the make and model of the lathe in the picture?

Thank you

I have 3 of these lathes . I pieced two of them together and bought the third one complete .
I am making 36 in taper bar for one of the lathes right now .

Large bore headstock

Good little lathe .

Good picture of the built in 24 position indexer
