LOML re-organized the house and I'm giving up a bookcase I'd built some time ago.
The replacement is a Black Cherry & Curly Maple 4' wide 2-shelf unit.
I designed it with a finished look on the back.

The sides are frame & panel with a bookmatched cherry floating panel.
Not your typical bookmatch, the outside left of the case matches the outside right.
The back is frame & panel with a mid-stile; the rear panels are ship-lapped black cherry.
The frame & panels are full mortise & tenon construction.
The back panel has a 1/4" stub-tenon the full length of each stile fitting
into a 1/4" stopped dado on each side panel.
The bottom shelf is connected using a stub mortise & tenon.
The case top connects using a shallow dado which sits down on the back and sides.
The middle shelf sits on shelf pins.

The photos are terrible but they'll give you some idea what I've done:

Thanks guys.
This one even got a "Wow" from Judy. That's a rarity.

Andrew,
Big difference 'tween this and a Norm project:
I don't use `just a couple of brads' to hold anything in place while the glue dries.
[:D]
In fact, it's all joinery, no hardware anywhere.
The shelf pins are currently cut from 1/4" dowels;
I'll be turning a set from black cherry to fit this week.

Norm,
Too big to bring to Show 'N Tell -- with my luck, I'd knock it over and ding a corner.

Today, it gets a second coat of Waterlox. I really need to get better pics so you can
see the color -- the cherry is already a deep rich red and the curl on the maple just
pops.

I'm gonna have to budget for a new camera; I tried over & over to get good clear photos. It ain't happening.
I managed to get two pics that at least show the actual color and one is clear to where you can really see what the curly maple is doing in the case.
This is after two coats of waterlox original:
