First place, congrats, what is the wood used and finish.

Great job.

The wood is Norfolk Island Pine and finish is sanding sealer and wipe on poly. It's about 10 1/2 inches tall and about 7" diameter... volume (If i'm correct on calculation is about 85 cu.in.

chuck:

I was thinking it was Norfolk pine as I know Ron Kent from Hawaii from my AAW member days who by far has done more with Norfolk pine than any one i know. Great wood to work with and you did it again great job.
Check out Ron web site for his work.

Beautiful! And I thought pine wouldn't turn good. Congrats on the award.

Norolk island pine isn't a true pine... I believe it's a species all its own... at any rate it doesn't turn like the pine we have here... it's a tighter grained and not given to the tear out we get in ordinary pine. At any rate, it's beautiful wood to turn... now I just need a source for some more.

Thank everyone for all the kind words... I really enjoy this hobby.
