I know this might gross some out, but I promise I used brand new mouse traps to make this cheese board. I glued them to a piece of oak board, then shaped and sanded by hand. Finished with mineral oil.

That looks really sharp I like it a lot .. I think I even have this saved on Pinterest

My concern is the ink used for the decals. A company with the intent of making a mouse trap, may not be using a safe for human ink. Especially for serving food. I know the mineral oil will create some barrier but over time with cutting on it.

Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

Interesting idea. You might leave the trap mechanism at one end for a bit of je ne sais quoi. I may try that??

Leave the trap mechanism on one end and put a cat toy mouse in it.

I was thinking leave the trap mechanism at one end, and use it as the actual cheese cutter... but then again, that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen! :biggrin:
