Mixed media bud vase

I decided to play around with some mixed media and made this bud vase. I made four diagonal cuts with my table saw and filled each cut with blue colored Silimar 41 casting resin. The wood is spalted ornamental plum. My wife thinks it would look better without the blue, she prefers things on the plain side (that's probably why she likes me).

That's a gorgeous piece of wood! I like the shape of it too, I may have to "borrow" it for my own sometime!

Quite nice. I like the appearance of a very complex curve in the inlaid areas after turning.

Pretty profile and nice figuring in the wood. I agree with your wife but hardly think it would look plain. Nicely done!
