Last Thanksgiving there was a field that was clear-cut. Lots of trees, nothing left... But there was a pile of brush. Nothing bigger than 6" thick.

I drove by it daily for 6 weeks. Rain, then snow, then a very deep freeze, then a quick thaw. I saw some folks there doing some work, and asked about the brush pile... "For $20 will you take it away... YUP!!!!

I saved only as much as would fit... sorry I did not have more room. Cut into 6" sections, waxed, and stored. So, last week I decided to see if if was anything good (Black Walnut).

Mark you little bird houses just get more beautiful with each posting! Love the wood contrast and design...looks like you giving Mr. Sing a run for 'Top Bird House Turner'... ;>) Thanks again for sharing and safe turning to you!

I really like your idea on the roofs, using a branch across the pith. I might borrow that idea!! Excellent looking bird houses!!
