This is a medal display cabinet that I built for my next door neighbor's son. It was to display all the medals he accumulated during his high school sporting career. I made the whole thing from some select pine. There is a small V groove cut in all the shelves for the medals to rest in. I did the design on the glass with vinyl and etching cream. I turned the knob on my lathe. The screw that mounts the knob does double duty. It is attracted to the magnet mounted in the frame and holds the door shut. The back is a piece of 1/4" hardboard covered in black felt. I finished it with golden pecan stain and several coats of poly.

Lucky young man!..... many receive medals....but very few receive a Derek Oliver medal cabinet!
I am sure he will be thrilled and will remember it for decades.
Very generous and Well done!
