Made some parting tools. I used big hack saw blades. I get 2 blanks per blade. Handles are attached with Gorilla glue. Lacquer finish. The surface of the blade is a little rough but it doesn't affect the parting action.

I like those! Must be some BIG hack saw blades .

What is the thickness of the blade?

Nice job Terry.

I've looked for these for a long time to trade. Best I've found is new from MSC: 12" Starrett 0.050 $14.55. Just not worth it.

A local shop saves used blades for me.

I pick up new demo blades (sawzall blades) for like ... 4 bucks. Home Depot.

I grind the teeth off, drill two holes and slap a handle on, and grind the face to my preference ...

The width is just a tad over 1/16th ... perhaps 3/32nds, and it's EXTREMELY TOUGH steel.

Need more/better instructions? Go watch Captain Eddie. :)
