It's almighty hot out, but can't let a little heat keep me out of the shop.. here are a couple of things I've been playing with last couple of day... LOML suggested the shape, it's a little piece of Honduras Rosewood..
.. finish is about 6 coats of min-wax and about 20 minutes on the buffer. About 5-1/2 dia x 2 in high.
This one is a mesquite burl..finish is Formsby Tung Oil finish.. I've only got two coats on in this picture.. it's back in the shop for additional coats .. probably will got to 6 or 8.
it's 5 in dia x 3 in high.
This was my practice piece before I tried the Rosewood and Mesquite.. a little chunk of spalted maple from the old tree that fell across my back yard a couple years ago. This has a BLO/CA finish on it. I forgot to put the little oil lamp in before the picture..
