I turned this little bowl from a limb off my downed elm tree.
It's 4 in. diameter x 3 in. high. Walls are about 1/4 in. or less... I don't have a caliper to measue the walls yet.
Finish is BLO.

I will start by saying don't read this if you don't want constructive criticism.

I agree the rim is a very nice touch. Yet there appears to be lots of sanding marks. I really like elm and the chatoyance with elm is amazing, but sanding marks really detract from it and chatoyance really magnifies any sanding flaws.

Come on down Fred... I was just up at Knoxville today at WC... I called to see if they had a new belt for my Jet... the clerk said they had link belt that people like.. but would have to order the actual Jet belt... we get there and he was talking about a link belt that fits table saws, not JET Mini lathes.. oh-well, nice day for a drive, picked up the Woodturning Design, and had lunch at the Mandrin House.. no worries.
I'll call Jet Tuesday and order my belt.
